Goodbye to the kids. Flight delay at PDX.

Dave, Cody, Elaine, Cora

We’ve had a great visit with Rachel, Destry , Cora, and Cody the last few days. But all good things come to an end, and we head back to Phoenix this afternoon. We started the day with breakfast (again) at Elmer’s after the young ones got off to daycare. Then back to the house where we did some document updates to file there with Destry and Rachel. Then we headed out to the airport with stops at Fred Meyer’s for ATM work and a stop for fuel for our rental car. Traffic was light and we made good time to PDX.

However, things slowed to a standstill at PDX. Our 3:35 PM flight to Phoenix was on a 2-hour+ delay! Aside from having to hang around PDX two hours longer, that gets us into Phoenix around 9:00 tonight and our morning flight to Cabo San Lucas leaves at 7:00 AM. It’s going to be a short night!! We have to get to the airport around 5:30 AM, and we didn’t get to our hotel until after 10:00 PM.

Our flight from Portland was good, once we got underway. We had a good meal of chicken and the ride was comfortable up until the Phoenix end, where we had just a little turbulence.

We checked into La Quinta and were immediately met with a stale smell as if the room had been used for smoking. Not good. Otherwise, OK.

  1. Get some sleep and enjoy Cabo for me too! Love it there. If you have never been, go to the glass factory. Beautiful everything. I bought some unique margarita glasses there a few years ago.
