Bye, bye, Shauna.

We took Shauna to the airport early this morning for her return to her Green River WY home. We had a wonderful visit with her! Now that we don’t travel as much we don’t get to see kids often, and she had never been to our new place in Phoenix though she had visited our previous residence on Sweetwater Ave. Her flight went out at 8:40 from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, so we all had to get up before breakfast to get her there in time – we left home at 6:00. But all went smoothly.

On Saturday evening Shauna asked her Mom if the Easter Bunny would have hidden Easter eggs for her to hunt for in the morning. Elaine said no, but after Shauna had gone to sleep Elaine hid a bunch of colored jelly beans in the house and left out an Easter basket with candy in it. Shauna had a ball searching on Sunday morning for those hidden “eggs”. But the story does not end there. She took the Easter basket on board this morning along with other things in a large shopping bag and because some of the Easter candy was foil-wrapped the basket had to be “strip-searched”!

She arrived home safely around 2 PM and reported later that she was enjoying a steak dinner with her husband, Casey.

We had a visit with Dr Gary Kauffman at Honor Health this afternoon. Elaine had reported recent occasional heart palpitations to Dr Warren Johnson, our PCP, during our annual physical visit, and he suggested a followup. This was the start of the process. Dr Kauffman was not unduly concerned from his exam today, but as a precaution and to establish a baseline he has ordered a series of tests. No big deal at this time.

I got a chance to work some more on the May newsletter today, and also a chance to get in a good nap after lunch. Since Elaine’s appointment was at 3:30 we did not go swimming today.
