I have noticed over the last few days that our Lantana shrubs are putting out more blossoms, and suspect that it is due to cooling weather. Our temps have been as much as 12° below normal the last week or so, down into the 80s and low 90s. I think our Moss Rose plants are putting out more blossoms as well. When I mentioned it to Elaine this afternoon she mentioned that it may be time to plant some pansies, petunias, and other annuals. Here in Phoenix we plant those flowers in October and they thrive through the winter, unlike in northern climes where they are planted in late May. It is too hot for them in May-October.
We will change out some of the plants in our planter boxes along the front of the house. I plan to build more planter boxes for the rear and we’ll plant those with the winter annuals.
Today was Breakfast in the Park day here at Royal Palm, and I had my breakfast at the Clubhouse. Elaine was still very tired from all her work yesterday and did not want to go out, so I fixed her a takeout box and brought breakfast home to her. I did not work as hard as she did, so I was not as tired I guess. I was tired enough last night that when we got home from the birthday bash at the Clubhouse I poured a bourbon to enjoy and it took some of the edge off my tired body.
I spent some time today sorting through some of my photos captured over the last couple of months. All the photos that I took with my Galaxy S6 and now take with my Galaxy S8+ end up in my Dropbox account, where I can easily access them from any computer. I write my blog posts on my Surface Pro 4 tablet and work with the photos in Dropbox from there. But eventually I move them into my Pictures folder on my laptop, arranging them in folders. From there the files get backed up both to an external hard drive attached to the laptop as well as to an online account using CrashPlan. My effort today consisted of moving photos from Dropbox and putting them in named folders. For photos that are based on location I name the folders using a STATE Place Topic naming scheme, so photos I took at breakfast at Village Inn in Rock Springs would be in a folder named WY Rock Springs Village Inn. If we go to a place more than once I use subfolders with the date. For all those photos taken on that trip I put the individual event folders in another folder named WY 201709 visit, since the photos on that trip were taken in a variety of places. Shauna had asked me to send her copies of the photos taken on that visit so I have copied them to a USB drive to send to her. I will also offer a similar collection to Destry, Shane, and John.
I still have a couple of months’ worth of photos to similarly process in my Dropbox account.
