With cooler temperatures the plants and flowers here in Royal Palm are starting to put out more blossoms. They don’t have to defend themselves from the heat as much, so can put more energy into blooming. I especially noted the bougainvillea shrubs in front of the office this morning; they are covered with bright blossoms.
Elaine’s new die cut and embossing machine came in today and she is excited to try it out. It is the We R Memory Keepers Evolution Advanced and has several features we think will be better than what she has been using. For one, when you lower the two platforms suction cups on the bottom engage to hold the machine in place. For another, there is a pressure adjustment with settings for die cutting, embossing, and letter pressing. Her previous machines required her to add layers of shim material to achieve the proper pressure and seldom provided the correct degree of pressure. Yet another feature is that there is a magnetic plate available to firmly hold the metal dies in place. And another is the while you can use a hand crank to move the material through the machine there is also an electric motor available to do that work. I got all of those extra items for her set. She does a lot of work with die cutting and will welcome tools to make life better and easier. Interestingly, the web site linked above does not show the machine itself but they do list the attachments! I bought the machine and stuff on Amazon.
I worked all morning on the newsletter and this afternoon I spent about 2½ hours interviewing November’s Royal Palm Spotlight subject. I now have to write up that interview and get it to the subject to review before the newsletter goes to the reviewers.
