I spent much of the day getting Elaine’s computer ready for her and by mid-afternoon I had it on her desk and turned over to her. She says she likes it! I have to say that I like it as well. I had to get used to the large screen (23.8″) compared with my 11″ tablet and my 17″ laptop, though I do have a second 22″ monitor I use with the laptop to give me some extra screen space. The Lenovo set up easily and quickly with the latest Windows 10 setup process.
I decided to have her try using the Windows 10 Email client instead of the Thunderbird client she had been using. We’ll see how that goes.
I tried setting up the Windows 10 People app but don’t much like it yet. It would not sync with her Google Contacts app and we use that on our Android phones as well. I’ll have to work some more with that before deciding to use it.
There is a Windows 10 Calendar app and I would like to sync it with our Google Calendar app but did not figure that out, either. I maintain our common calendar using Google and we both share it on our phones and tablets. It would be nice to have it work in Windows as well.
I will try to work out some of those tasks on my own computer before going further on Elaine’s.
