When John knew he would be staying over again tonight, he requested of his Mom that we go to “that seafood place you like so much” for supper. He remembers that I occasionally write about going to Pappadeaux, so that is where we went. I think he thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and we are glad we went. Elaine had a lobster, John Pasta Mardi Gras, and I had Shrimp and Scallops over Orecchiette pasta with jumbo lump crab & asparagus in a creamy Parmesan vodka sauce. We had plenty to bring home for tomorrow. Continue reading Pappadeaux with John. Dog wash.
Gizmo got a good report from his eye doctor today! It has been two weeks since we took him to Eye Care for Animals because of a swelling on the cornea of his left eye. Dr Sigler prescribed an eye salve which I have been applying to his left eye three times a day. Dr Sigler said there has been an improvement, and we can see the reduction in swelling as well. He must have the salve for another month, though on a reduced dosage. Good news! Continue reading Gizmo good eye report. HostGator. Bearizona.
Ethernet is the wired system for connecting computers and devices, and was the only way prior to wireless (WiFi) becoming popular. And Ethernet remains the most reliable and fastest when it can be used. I had our house wired so that Ethernet cables were run to the office so we could connect our computers there. But only one of the four ports was working, so only one device (my computer) could be connected. I bought an Ethernet hub which solves that problem by splitting the one connection with up to four uses. Continue reading Ethernet hub. Bill Schuling. WordPress expansion.
We noticed a few days ago that Gizmo’s left eye had a bulge in the center. So I called Eye Care for Animals, the eye clinic he has been going to, and made an appointment for today. Since Gizmo has Pigmentosa Kerititas, he has regular visits with the eye doctors there. The conclusion today is that he may have injured that eye somehow and there is an edema (a fluid buildup) just under the cornea. They gave him some ointment to put in his left eye three times a day and want to see him in two weeks.
Supper tonight was an impromptu affair. As we getting ready to leave the pool Elaine mentioned something about getting supper ready; I knew she had set some fish out to thaw. But she seemed tired, so I suggested we go out to dinner instead. She quickly agreed! Agnes Volk had mentioned Los Compadres, a Mexican restaurant down on Northern that I used to go to when I worked at Wood Patel nearby but have not been to for a few years. So I thought we should give it a try, since Elaine had never been there. We were happy with our meal and, of course, brought about half home as leftovers. She had a Chicken Fajita, I had a Machaca Relleno. both good. And we both had a margarita. Continue reading Los Compadres. Dogs groomed. Tablet keyboard. Royal Palm news.
We’ve got a couple of slick boys tonight. Kerby and Gizmo were groomed today, and they are no longer shaggy and look like they have each lost 1-3 pounds. But that was all fluff. We are very happy with the job Danielle and crew do at the Pet Club store at 19th Ave and Northern. What is especially good for us is that Kerby and Gizmo like her and do not fight going to her salon. And she does a very good job of looking for potential problems such as Kerby’s lumps and bumps. They weigh each dog each time and let us know what they weighed in at. And, they are a lot of fun to talk to. A very lively place. Continue reading Grooming day. Coax start. New webs.
Kerby had the bandage and stitches removed this morning from the surgery to remove a wart on his left hind foot. He has done well since the surgery, with no indication of any pain or discomfort. And the wart came off cleanly and healed well according to his vet, Dr Young and Dr Campanile of Companion Pet Clinic. There is still some redness around the wound, but that will continue to heal and he will be alright. He was very calm at the vet’s office this morning and handled being worked on very well.
