We finished up the patio cleaning task this afternoon. Elaine cleaned tables and stair railings while I hosed down the patio floor and the patio chairs. I had swept the floor earlier to remove the majority of the dust and debris, mostly leaves, to make it easier to clean. It all looks clean and sparkly now, especially when the floor was still wet. While I had the hose in hand I also washed down the skirting around the house in the patio area as well as the awning posts. The posts tend to collect dust and dirt over time. It was time for Kerby and Gizmo to have their three-week session with Danielle, this time for maintenance only. That’s bathing and minor clipping where needed. She also checks and clean Kerby’s ears; the latter is needed lately as he has some ear mites. We also treat the ears with an otic solution provided by his vet. Three weeks from now they will return for a full grooming. Continue reading Doggy maintenance. Shopping at The Home Depot. Leftovers.
For some reason Kerby looked much shaggier this time than usual, but he sure cleaned up nicely as did Gizmo! Lately they have been going on Sundays to Danielle, but this time it went an extra day to Monday, but I don’t think an extra day made a shag difference. Kerby, having a light-colored coat, gets dirty looking so quickly it is always nice to see him clean again but it only lasts for a day or so. Continue reading Grooming day. John quick visit. This was maintenance bathing day for Kerby and Gizmo and we took them to Danielle at 11:00 this morning. About two hours later they were ready and smelling great again. They get a little heavy smelling when it is time for grooming or bath and this last period was one week longer – four weeks instead of the usual three – because I forgot to make the appointment with Danielle! When she was at Pet Club their system allowed me to set up appointments and get reminders. Now that we work with her on her own that element is missing and I keep forgetting to set it up on my own calendar. Hmmm….. Perhaps I should do that once I am done with this! Danielle is back in business, and Kerby and Gizmo are now clean and groomed. We have been taking them to Danielle at the Pet Club store at 19th Ave and W Northern, but a couple of weeks ago the store suddenly shut down. Danielle had no notice; she showed up for work on Apr 14th only to find the store being emptied! She scrambled to find another place and was able to. But at this new location she can only do grooming; they want her to be able to do more groomings a day and they have others to do the washing. So for a few of her older customers she will take them at her home, and that is where we went today. We are happy for her and for our boys, because they love Danielle. Off they went to Pet Club first thing this morning – it was time for Kerby and Gizmo to have their three-week maintenance session with Danielle and Amber at Pet Club at 19th Ave and Northern. They go for grooming, then three weeks later go for maintenance bathing and minor trim. Elaine said that Gizmo was more than ready for a bath; he was getting a little odorous when up close, such as sleeping beside her at night! Perhaps this is because we have left his hair longer the last couple of months; we can’t help it because he looks so cute with longer hair. But next time it will be cut shorter. We’ve got a couple of slick boys tonight. Kerby and Gizmo were groomed today, and they are no longer shaggy and look like they have each lost 1-3 pounds. But that was all fluff. We are very happy with the job Danielle and crew do at the Pet Club store at 19th Ave and Northern. What is especially good for us is that Kerby and Gizmo like her and do not fight going to her salon. And she does a very good job of looking for potential problems such as Kerby’s lumps and bumps. They weigh each dog each time and let us know what they weighed in at. And, they are a lot of fun to talk to. A very lively place. Continue reading Grooming day. Coax start. New webs.
