Last night I had wired shut the bottom of the gate in our back area, through which Gizmo found his escape hatch. The gate is somewhat flimsy, and he was able to push his way out at the bottom corner of the gate. I wired that closed. Today Elaine and Pete Petersen used a bungee cord to provide an alternate system. I will make a more permanent fix. We don’t use that gate often, so a double latching system would not be a hindrance. I guess you could call this the GizmoGate affair! Continue reading Gizmo escape hole blocked. Decorations stored. Best chip clips. Gout attack.
Tonight we joined a group of 35 people from Royal Palm celebrating the November Birthday Bash at the Texas Roadhouse in MetroCenter. The first Birthday Bash was in July, and the group size has grown larger every month and meets at a different place. Only a few of the people at the Birthday Bash are actually celebrating their birthday this month, but that does not matter. The rest of us come along for the fun of getting together and getting out! Texas Roadhouse is not one of the restaurants Elaine and I like to go to, because of the noise. But this is the atmosphere of that chain and many people go there because of it. It took more than a half hour instead of the usual twenty minutes or so, but our volunteer team folding newsletters got the job done. We were short a couple of volunteers who were on vacation. This newsletter was more complicated to assemble because we had FOUR inserts and they had to be assembled in a specific order for a couple of them to work. But the team pulled it off! Continue reading Let’s deliver. Ear, ear!
Saturday Breakfast Out was at Kiss The Cook in Glendale, a place we like to go to if we can get there early enough to avoid the rush and wait lines. Getting there around 7:45 accomplished that. Shauna spotted the Spinach Omelet on the board outside and had that, and I spotted the Carrot Cake Pancakes and had that. Elaine had Oatmeal with the works. It was such a nice day that we decided to eat on the outdoor patio at the front. Very comfy, but somewhat noisy. My sausage with my meal provided some leftovers for the boys, which they “attacked” me for upon arriving at home. Continue reading Kiss The Cook for breakfast. Quilting shopping. Dinner at Pappadeaux.
